Hole 1

The golfer's aim is indicated by a tracer that animates over the ground. You can change the aim by pressing the left or right directional keys, or by using the '4' or '6' keys on the numeric keypad.

The menu at the upper right operates like the main menu. You can also press a number key to bypass menu selection (e.g. press '1' to select club).  You can hide the menu by pressing '0', and restore it by pressing '0' again. (BlackBerry note: it is not necessary to use the shift key when entering a number).

A club is automatically selected based on the distance to the hole. If you would like to pick your own club press the 1 key. The clubs are as follows: 1i-230 (1 iron,  range about 230 yards, loft angle 8 degrees), 2i-215 (12 degrees), 3i-200 (16 degrees), 4i-185 (20 degrees), 5i-170 (24 degrees), 6i-155 (28 degrees), 7i-140 (32 degrees), 8i-125 (36 degrees), 9i-110 (40 degrees), PW-90 (wedge, 60 degrees), PT-100 (putter, range about 100 feet).

An operation not shown on the menu camera up and camera down.  Pressing 2 will lift the camera and 8 will lower it.  This is useful to get a wider view.

Pressing the main button or 5 starts the swing. Note that wind speed and direction affects your shot so adjust accordingly.

Force Meter

Force is indicated by a rising thermometer column, broken into 25% markings.  If the meter reaches the top without another click the swing will be full force but less accurate than if you click before 100% is reached.

Overhead View

If after hitting the ball it goes out of view the game switches to an overhead view to show the ball's path. When the ball stops the view switches back to the golfer. You can switch back and forth between the two views by pressing '7'.
